The Lomita Railroad Museum was built in 1966 to display the history of railroading, with an emphasis on steam engines. Its entrance is located west of Freeway 110, and east of Torrance Municipal Airport, near Lomita Park. The building was constructed to be an authentic replication of Boston & Maine's Greenwood Station, and preserves retired locomotives outside the museum doors.
